What do you want to achieve?

When launching SLS from a Mac, using the integrated display I want to have the same appearance and DPI that I get with an external, non-HighDPI display.
Ideally, SLS would understand the DPI setting and would not need the user to change the zoom level manually.

What have you tried so far?

Changing the zoom-level in the Preferenes pane each time I plug, and unplung the computer. Which is about 4-6 pref changes a day whe, switching from the integrated display to my external desktop display.

We have a plan to solve your problem in the future: The UI Scale setting will be saved for the detected resolution only, and if a different resolution is detected at next SquareLine Studio startup, a new distinct UI scale can be given for that too. And on next launches of SquareLine Studio the corresponding saved UI scale settings will be loaded, based on the detected resolution.
