Hi, this is a bug in 1.6.2 on macOS with LVGL 8.3 projects: the bundled MicroPython simulator for 8.3 was rebuilt with a newer LVGL binding where LV_SIZE_CONTENT is exposed as lv.SIZE_CONTENT instead of lv.SIZE.CONTENT, so the preview crashes on any widget whose width or height is set to “content”. It’s already fixed internally and will be in the next release.

Until then: set the width/height of the affected widget(s) from “content” to a pixel value (the project itself loads fine, only the preview crashes), or stay on 1.6.1 for now. C code export is not affected.

Hello Support, thanks for the response.

I migrated to LVGL 9.5 since it was a real pain to be able to post here. My initial post stuck to “approving” and I believe it’s still there, don’t know why. Migrating was a pain also, but it had to be done. 1.6.1 was a no-go for MacOS 27. Now, problem is gone.

Glad it’s working now, and thanks for confirming. The root cause was on our side: in 1.6.2 the bundled macOS simulator for LVGL 8.3 was rebuilt against a newer binding where LV_SIZE_CONTENT is exposed differently, so any 8.3 project with a “content”-sized widget crashed the preview. Moving to 9.5 sidesteps it, and the fix for 8.3 projects is already done internally and will ship in the next release, so nobody else will have to migrate because of this.

Sorry about the posting trouble as well; first posts go into a moderation queue, we’ll take a look at why yours sat there.

Indeed, all good now. The MacOS 27 was putting extra pressure to move on, otherwise we could wait for a fix. However, don’t spend any more of your valuable time to research the original post, because it was stuck on moderation and I had to delete and re-create my account to make it work.
