I have been trying to get squareline to run, but all I have been able to do is place a single image and nothing else, and every time I open the project it freezes, with a popup saying it’s “refreshing images”. I’ve restarted my computer multiple times and I don’t have any idea what to do please help
Hi Adrian, welcome, and sorry for the trouble!
We found a bug that matches what you describe: if an image file in your project’s assets folder has a very long number right before the extension (for example image_1729353600123.png, which is common for images downloaded from the web), the editor gets stuck at “Refresh images”. This will be fixed in the next release.
Workaround until then: close SquareLine Studio, open your project folder, go into the assets subfolder and rename that image so it has no long number in the name (e.g. background.png). Then reopen the project and pick the renamed image again in the Image widget.
If it still freezes after that, please send us:
the name and pixel size of the image you added
your log file: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\SquareLine Kft\SquareLine_Studio\Player.log
Also, very large photos (several thousand pixels wide) can make the editor very slow. It’s best to resize images to your display’s resolution before adding them.
