Is there a trick to copy and paste a widget (or container+widgets) between two different projects (e.g., two SQLS instances on Windows)?
Thanks.
Annoy yes , but in one instance only … open project one copy … open project 2 paste
Thanks so much, I didn’t know!
Annoying, but better than nothing!
Hi, actually, there is a more efficient way to transfer complex widget hierarchies between projects using Components.
Here is the step-by-step workflow:
- Create a Component: In the source project, create a component from the container or widget hierarchy you wish to transfer.
- Locate the File: Navigate to your project directory on your computer. You will find a
componentsfolder containing the component file you just created. - Copy to Target: Copy this specific file into the
componentsfolder of your target project. - Use it: The component will appear in the Widget/Assets panel of the new project.
- Detach (Optional): If you do not want to use it as a locked component in the new project, you can click “Detach” in the Inspector panel to revert it to standard editable widgets.
